Our Mission
The Plainfield Area YMCA is a community service
organization, which promotes positive values through
programs that build spirit, mind and body, welcoming all
people.

YMCA School Age Program: Childcare Goals
- To encourage in our children a positive self-image
and a belief in their ability to succeed by recognizing
their talents and accomplishments.
- To offer our children a safe, structured environment
in which they can grow socially, emotionally,
academically and physically.
- To build a sense of positive community by
establishing and maintaining an atmosphere of mutual
caring, respect and understanding.
- To offer a safe, convenient and affordable quality
program to all participants.
- To build character and a strong sense of values by
stressing the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, and
fair play.
- To contribute to their education by encouraging the
children to work on their assignments conscientiously
and accurately with the support and guidance of our
dedicated staff.
- To offer a variety of activity schedules allowing
the children choices and to honor their preferences.
