Swim Camp
 |
The
Plainfield Area YMCA Swim Camp offers instruction for participants
of all abilities and levels. Swim Camp includes swimming four times
a week and a weekly field trip. Campers will have the opportunity to
improve their skill level by following the Red Cross model. Swimmers
will be divided into three levels: Beginners, Intermediate and
Advanced.

Performing Arts Camp
 |
The
Plainfield Area YMCA Performing Arts Camp is designed to develop
creativity and the appreciation of the performing arts. Participants
are divided into age groups and choose to focus on either dance or
drama. One performance will be scheduled in August. Swimming and
field trips once a week is included as part of the program.
Dance:
During the dance segment of Performing
Arts Camp, campers are introduced to the various styles of dance
(ballet, modern, jazz, hip hop) and participate in a program that
emphasizes the development of proper technique, body alignment, and
dance performance.
Drama:
During the drama segment of Performing Arts Camp, the
program emphasizes creativity and improvisation. Campers also
participate in costume, make - up and scenery design

Sports Camp |
Your child will learn the
fundamentals of various team sports and have an opportunity to
improve upon individual skill levels with a focus on team building
and sportsmanship, as well as the implementation of the YMCA’s four
core values, respect, responsibility, honesty, and caring. Campers
will have a fun filled day participating in sports activities in
Basketball, Baseball, and Soccer. Other activities including
swimming, weekly trips, arts & crafts and special events.

Teen Camp |
Teens will get a chance to see
what it is like to be a camp counselor through our optional
“Counselor in training” program. This program offers specialized
training to teens who may one day want to work at a camp. CIT
program provides 5—10 hours per week of hands on experience with the
younger campers. Teen camp also includes discussions and
group activities, but don’t plan on spending your summer
indoors! Most of the time will be spent going on trips, picnics,
and service learning projects.

Half Day Camp |
The Plainfield Area YMCA offers campers an option to attend camp
in the afternoon and have double the fun in half the time!

The Last
Hurrah Camp |
The summer’s almost over, but
it’s not quite time for school. The Last Hurrah! Is a special
program designed for those who need an exciting and fun filled
program following Summer Camp? Participants will go on trips,
participate in swimming, arts & crafts, sports, and special events.
Trips subject to change based on schedule availability. Children
must bring their own lunch during this last week. |

Payment Information:
Camp fees are to be paid on a bi-weekly basis. All camp fees must
be paid in full two weeks prior to the camper’s start date. After
June 18th the first session must be paid in full. We accept money
orders, cash, VISA, Master Card, and ATM Debit cards with the VISA
or Master Card logo. If full payment is not received before each
session, your child will NOT be allowed to enter camp. We
do
not give refunds or credit due to missed days.
Registration Requirements
- Upon registration there is a none—refundable $50 deposit per
session to hold a slot which is applied to the session fee.
- All participants must be current members of the Plainfield Area YMCA
- All participants must pay a one time $30 registration fee.
- Children must be registered and paid in full at least TWO WEEKS
prior to the start date of each new session.
- A complete current medical form is required by all participants
prior to the start of camp.
- No
refunds under any circumstances.
Refund Policies:
A non-refundable deposit of $50 is required to guarantee a spot
in the program; this fee is also non - transferable. If a camper
cannot attend camp for a paid period of time, a request for a credit
should be made to the Sr. Program Director. Refunds are granted for
medical reasons with a doctor’s note.
All refund requests are submitted to our executive office and may
take approximately 60 to 90 days to process.
Camp Shirt
Each child will receive a free Plainfield Area YMCA camp
T-shirt which must be worn on trip days. Additional shirts can be
purchased for $5 at the Welcome Center.
Additional Information
The Parents Manual will be sent to you or given to you when
you register in person. This manual contains details about our
programs. Feel free to call if you have questions.
